{Thirsty Thursday: NJ Designer Showhouse}

Happy Thirsty Thursday!
After perusing The New Jersey Designer Showhouse we are feeling very elegant so this week's drink of choice is none other than Champagne.

Ingredients

1oz. Pomegranate Juice

4oz Chilled Champagne

The Simple Recipe

In a Champagne flute pour in the pomegranate juice

Top with Champagne Garnish with pomegranate seeds or raspberries if desired

You may also freeze the raspberries a head of time if you want your champagne extra cold.

Prop your feet up and settle in with a glass as we toast to the end of the week and pore through New Jersey's Designer Showhouse. There were some clear winners in this designer showcase. Allow us to take you through some of our favorites…

We are d-i-e-i-n-g over this dining room wall. Love the artwork hung over the mirrors. There is something very chic about mirrors in a dining room, perhaps its how they reflect the light and create a  feeling of opulence.  Hanging artwork in the center creates such a unique focal wall.

The black lacquered dining table, textured wallpaper and that chandelier… wow. I am also obsessed with the color of these dining chairs -- love it when designers take a traditionally "ugly" or "muddy" color and make it elegant.

It really is all in the details… Yellow is quickly becoming the it color and would you expect anything less from Jersey than animal print??

We love the use of space here! The round table in the far right corner is perfect for a card game or puzzle. The space in the foreground is a chic spot to enjoy cocktails with your guests. And in the far left corner is a chaise with ample lighting for curling up with a hot cup of tea and a good book. The bold pink rug works perfectly here without going too girly. Pairing this hue with rich neutrals like the chocolate brown chairs, creamy couch and beige wallpaper creates an upscale tone for the space.

I am all about the fun of creating a unique color palette but sometimes monochromatic is the way to go. The use of brown in this room is stunning. The reason this bedroom doesn't come off as flat is because of the expert use of levels and color. The tall side table lamps draw your eye upward and the tufted couch adds just the right the hit of texture this room needs. All of the wood accents act as the perfect finishing touch to a rich, serene space.

This bedroom hits all the major trends with the navy blue wall, animal hide rug and horse accessories.

I love this desk, which is really a rectangular cut glass top placed on top of two stone outdoor planters. In my other, uncluttered life this would be my pic for my home office!

  1. Great picks and pictures, Kathryn! Love your blog and great taste! Also thought the wall with the mirrors and artwork was very intersting, and love the navy blue wall. Red is also one of my favorite wall colors in the "right" red tone. . . the glass desk is awesome, but really a showpiece, no? Not many people that really work could use it practically for business, but it "is" beautiful! Happy Thursday and hi to you Mom!
