{Personalizing Your Space}

So, all the makings of a beautiful room are in place: dynamite curtains, sturdy furniture and beautiful pillows…. And now its time for personalizing your space so it feels like yours and not just some ad in a magazine (however kudos to you if you designed a space that is magazine worthy!)

Here are 5 ways to cozy up your space with personal touches:

1. DIY & Oversize Letters

 2. Frame Special Items, Clothing & Notes

3. Introduce Natural Elements Into Your Home

{Fashion Friday: Turquoise & Tangerine}

Nate Burkus believes the best way to create a color palette for your home is to take inspiration from your closet. I whole heartedly agree that the colors you find yourself wearing regularly will most likely be the same as those you're comfortable decorating your home with.

To create a color palette that is distinctively your own, ask yourself what accessories you gravitate towards. Are they bold, trendy statement pieces or quieter, more traditional pieces?  Do you wear bright colors and pattern more often or do you play it safe with neutrals? Your answers to these questions can help you to create a stunning palette that is uniquely your own.

Below, you will find an outfit that I love translated into a living room…

{IT Color: Hunter Green}

The "It" Color for Spring: HUNTER GREEN

Hunter green was all over the runways during NYC fashion week last month. Marni, Gucci, Bottega and Coach all displayed the trend. The exciting news is hunter green doesn’t just work for spring fashion, it can also work beautifully in your home when paired with neutral fabrics, blonde woods or gold accents. When using hunter green in your home think of it as a substitute for navy.

No need to limit yourself to just hunter: celery, olive, mint and sage green will freshen any interior as well. Bring on the greens of spring!
